As Founder and Medical Director of NEXS Medical Clinics, she leads multiple Houston locations dedicated to high-quality, patient-centered primary care. She earned her medical degree from Shandong Medical University, completed residency at Indiana University Health–Methodist Hospital, and a geriatrics fellowship at UTHealth Houston. Dr. Wang leads the development of integrated, patient-centered care across Houston locations, focusing on musculoskeletal and neurological health. Dr. Kaeli Freeborough is a family medicine physician who will begin seeing patients on April 14, 2026 with NEXS Medical, practicing primarily at the Webster clinic. She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her Family Medicine residency at Houston Methodist Hospital. She previously worked at Legacy Clinic where she did full spectrum care as well as in office procedures.
Dr. Freeborough provides comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages, including children. She also is well versed in women’s health from puberty through menopause. She has a focus on preventive care, chronic disease management, and personalized treatment plans. She is committed to building strong relationships with patients and delivering compassionate, patient-centered care to the community.
Dr. Freeborough grew up in Northwestern Pennsylvania where she spent time outdoors riding horses, hiking and kayaking. In her spare time, she continues to explore the outdoors with her husband and young children. When not traveling she loves growing fresh vegetables in her garden.

Mayra Gomez, MD

Dr. Mayra Gomez will be joining NEXS Medical as a Family Medicine physician in Summer 2026. She provides comprehensive primary care with a strong focus on preventive medicine, lifestyle-based care, and long-term patient relationships. Dr. Gomez earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Houston and her medical degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. She completed her Family Medicine residency at Texas Tech in the Permian Basin. Born and raised in Houston, Dr. Gomez is passionate about caring for her hometown community and takes a patient-centered approach to care, partnering with patients to promote wellness, prevent disease, and support sustainable, healthy lives. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Gomez enjoys exploring state and national parks and values a balanced, sustainable lifestyle.
She will see patients at our Cypress/Bridgeland location.
Casandra “Cassey” Compean, MD

Dr. Casandra “Cassey” Compean grew up in Rosenberg, Texas and will be joining NEXS Medical as a PCP in Summer 2026. She completed her undergrad at the University of Texas at Austin, where she focused on gaining a deeper understanding of mental health and wellness. At UT, she also participated in the Dell Medical School Health Leadership Apprentice (HLA) program, worked as a lifeguard at the campus gym, and was an active member of the university’s wakeboarding team. She later earned a Master’s in Medical Sciences from the University of North Texas Health Science Center.
Dr. Cassey is passionate about serving underserved communities, particularly Spanish-speaking populations. Throughout her time at LSOM, she has taken on leadership roles in both the Latino Medical Student Association and Frontera de Salud, reflecting her commitment to improving healthcare access and community outreach. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, and being with friends and family.
She will begin practicing as a primary care doctor at our latest Sugarland location.

Anayda Chavez is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care through education, collaboration, and personalized treatment plans. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she is passionate about helping patients achieve their health goals while fostering strong relationships built on trust and communication.
Anayda earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University. She brings a diverse clinical background that includes experience in primary care, weight management, hormone replacement therapy, women’s health, and perioperative nursing. Throughout her career, she has focused on empowering patients with the knowledge and resources needed to make informed decisions about their health and wellness.
As a member of the NEXS Medical team, Anayda is committed to preventive care, chronic disease management, and helping patients improve their overall quality of life. Tan Nguyen, PA-C Physician Assistant
Tan Nguyen, PA-C is a board-certified Physician Assistant dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care through thoughtful listening and clear communication. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), where he earned a degree in Respiratory Care and gained experience managing asthma, COPD, and other pulmonary disorders.
He earned his Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Kansas State University. Tan is fluent in English and Vietnamese and proud to be part of NEXS medical team where he is passionate about preventive care, wellness, and helping patients feel confident and informed in their healthcare decisions.
